Singapore Changi Airport Named the World’s Best Airport

Singapore Changi Airport has been selected as the world’s best airport at the Skytrax World Airport Awards held in London. The award was presented to the airport’s CEO, Yam Kum Weng, during a ceremony attended by representatives from the aviation industry. Changi outperformed strong competitors such as Incheon International Airport and Tokyo Haneda Airport.
Having received numerous awards in previous years, Singapore Changi also achieved success in several different categories this year. It was recognized for having the best dining services, the best airport immigration services, and as the best airport in Asia.
Meanwhile, last year’s winner, Hamad International Airport, announced that it would withdraw from this year’s event. Airport officials stated that, due to regional geopolitical developments and security concerns, they have suspended participation in all international events.
